Les Voiles d’Antibes 2021 : l’esprit de résilience
Malgré la crise sanitaire et économique à laquelle le monde du yachting a dû faire face, l’événement des Voiles d‘Antibes garde toute son attractivité, tant pour les bateaux de compétition que pour les An- tibois et les visiteurs. Et le Port Vauban, capitale du Yachting en Méditerranée, en demeure le port d’at- tache d’année en année.
L’édition 2020 avaient réuni 50 bateaux, c’était moins que les années précédentes mais, dans le contexte sanitaire d’alors, cela reste une perfor- mance. Pour cette 26ème édition, du 15 au 19 sep- tembre 2021, le même esprit de résilience souffle sur l’épreuve, avec près de 70 bateaux attendus. Tous nos remerciements et nos félicitations vont aux or- ganisateurs, partenaires et participants pour leur engagement et leur fidélité.
L’accueil de l’édition 2021 est marquée par quelques changements dus aux travaux d’envergure engagés pour trois ans autour du bastion Saint-Jaume, mais les organisateurs et les équipes de Vauban 21 ont su trouver ensemble une relocalisation adaptée à l’évè- nement pour les participants et les visiteurs : sur le môle sud, quai des Evadés de Guerre, les yachts clas- siques et le village des Voiles bénéficieront de toutes les conditions d’accueil et de navigation requises, tandis qu’à l’esplanade Jean Moulin, le grand public découvrira un nouveau cadre festif, à proximité im- médiate de la vieille ville.
Placée idéalement au milieu du calendrier des ré- gates classiques méditerranéennes, l’édition 2021 des Voiles d’Antibes s’annonce haute en couleurs. Je souhaite un plein succès à cette grande fête du yach- ting, à la fois sportive et populaire, à laquelle le port Vauban est plus que jamais attaché.
Despite the health and economic crisis that the world of yachting has faced, the Voiles d’Antibes event has retained its attractiveness, both for the competing boats and for the residents of Antibes and its visitors. And the Port of Vauban, the capital of Yachting in the Mediterranean, has remained the event’s home port from year to year.
The 2020 Voiles d’Antibes brought together 50 boats, which is less than the previous years but, given the public health situation at the time, it was still quite the performance. For the 26th year of the Voiles d’An- tibes event, from 15 to 19 September 2021, the same spirit of resilience is blowing through the event, with close to 70 boats expected. All our thanks and congrat- ulations go to the organisers, partners and partici- pants for their commitment and their loyalty.
The opening of this year’s event is marked by a few changes due to the three-year-long large-scale con- struction works taking place around the Bastion Saint-Jaume, but the Vauban ‘21 organisers and teams together have been able to find a suitable alter- native location for the event for the participants and visitors: on the southern jetty of the Evadés de Guerre quay, the classic yachts and the Sails village will en- joy all the necessary reception and sailing conditions, while at the Jean Moulin esplanade, the audience will discover a new festive location, right next to the old town.
Ideally situated in the middle of the Mediterranean classical regatta timetable, the 2021 Voiles d’Antibes is set to be a colourful event.
I wish nothing but success for this great yachting festi- val, which is both sporting and popular and to which the Port of Vauban is more attached than ever.
